Richmond City council have recently passed a resolution to support the Space Preservation Act

The resolution supports the Space Preservation Act and Space Preservation Treaty permanently banning “space-based weapons,” even though the legislation first introduced by Rep. Dennis Kucinich in 2001 has never gained traction in Congress. It appears that Richmond is the first municipality in the U.S. to take up this lofty issue in more than a decade. In 2002, the City of Berkeley passed a similar resolution supporting the ban.

However, from watching the video of the proceedings it’s obvious that the council members are unsure just what it is they are voting on – HR2977 or HR3616 or something to do with Reagan’s Star Wars project.

It seems like this is more driven by people who feel they are being individually tortured by beams from space. The “Targeted Individual” crowd.
