SITTING BULL AND RED CLOUD WERE POWERFUL CHIEFS OF THEIR TIME. RACISM AND VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS WILL NOT STOP UNTIL PEOPLE STOP AND ACKNOWLEDGE ALL THE WRONGS OF THE PAST AND GRIEVE THOSE WRONGS WITH THOSE HARMED. RESTITUTION SHOULD BE GIVEN TO ALL FAMILY MEMBERS HARMED BY VIOLENCE AND LOSS OF LOVED ONES EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOTHING WHICH CAN RESTORE AND PAY FOR A LIFE LOST. THE SYMBOLOGY OF THE CEREMONY AND ACT OF RESTITUTION IS A STEP TOWARDS HEALING WHICH IS FAR BETTER THAN CONTINUING TO LIVE A LIE ABOUT THE ABUSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS, WHICH ONLY FURTHER PERPETUATES THE ABUSE. LIVING IN DENIAL IS NO LONGER SUSTAINABLE. ALL RACISM WORLDWIDE MUST END NOW. IT IS FAR TOO SERIOUS OF A REGRESSION TO SUSTAIN WITH ANY SANITY OF BEING HUMAN.
This is a series of audio-segments from Colorado, 1991.., when.Elder Russell Means, gave a rendition of his “Columbus Must Die” speech.. He delivered a longer version in July 1980.., entitled: “If America Is To Live, Europe Must Die”. For people who may be alarmed and/or offended by these words.., I suggest.., that Elder Russell was referring to the mistakenly written history books.., colonialism., prejudice.. and the many burdens & injustices placed on the Indigenous Nation as a whole.., by many of the European “land-claimers” that arrived here.., that he wanted to see “killed”.. and not any living person. It is not my belief, that Elder Russell wished for anyone to die.., but for people to just come forth and admit the truths that have been buried… and right the wrongs.., .. that have been made..
